Due Diligence Director

Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM's current and future clients within the middle market.Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

You will work for a variety of clients from a broad range of industries and sectors including private equity, entrepreneurs, large corporates and banks looking to acquire, invest in or fund a variety of businesses. You will see what makes a business successful, and attractive to acquirers / investors and learn about possible funding options for companies looking to grow.

You will be expected to have/develop an understanding of data analytics and how tools such as Alteryx and PowerBI are used in analysis of data.

Overall Purpose

To lead the execution of financial due diligence assignments on both buy side and sell side transactions, support the team in new business generation including building own relationships.

Responsibilities

  • The role will largely involve the execution of projects, the role includes a significant aspect of working on the business, growing and leading the team, winning work and developing relationships working alongside the leadership team.
  • Lead buy-side and/or sell-side engagements, providing financial due diligence.
  • Leading projects reporting directly to the partner and managing fieldwork teams and providing real time feedback and guidance to team members.
  • Directing financial analysis including directing/managing data analytics champions and specialists. We do not expect a Director to be proficient in the detail of using Data Analytics tools but we would expect you to have some understanding and to develop a deeper of understanding of the tools and opportunities that Data Analytics brings to Due Diligence projects and beyond.
  • Liaising with clients, target businesses and other professional advisors during execution of transactions
  • Reviewing and analysing financial models
  • Due diligence report drafting (in Microsoft PowerPoint) and (primarily) reviewing
  • Relationship building with potential clients and intermediaries (private equity houses, banks and corporates)
  • Lead and participate in coaching team members and participate in people development

  • Fully Qualified Chartered Accountant - ACA/CA/ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience within Transaction Services working on Financial Due Diligence engagements for a variety of clients, engagement sizes and sectors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrable business development experience.
  • Manage client expectations concerning timing, progress, deliverables, deadlines and lead change efforts effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice
  • Strong leadership, business development, coaching, training, and mentoring skills
  • Project management experience including planning, coordination of deliverables, team management towards the successful completion of a project
  • Willing to travel on occasion when required
