Job title: Dreadnought Service Project Manager

Salary: £47,683+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- You will lead the project management of engineering Through Life Support Services for the Dreadnought programme, which will involve travelling to different sites i.e. Prestwick and Barrow
- Manage complex stakeholder interfaces across different sectors
- You will report on performance for the whole service broken down by contract for Key KPIs and provide inputs to monthly programme review
- You’ll collate commentary of Spend vs Progress in support of Project Controller led spend reviews
- Ensure that the project has a robust Estimate at Completion (EAC) based on cumulative performance against your baseline plan
- Create, manage and maintain accurate level 2 plans/schedules for all contracted work
- Provide SME advice to estimates including maintaining generic service cost metrics or bottoms up detail estimates for bespoke tasks as required, in suitable documentation with comprehensive Dependencies Assumptions Risks Exclusions Opportunities (DAREO)
- You will ensure that project risk and opportunity is being managed and mitigated within the contract and recorded in formal risk register documents and manage escalation of specific risks into predict by informing the Cross Sector Engineering Manager who attends the Contract monthly risk and opportunity reviews
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience in project delivery, and able to work with a good level of autonomy
- Experience using Life Cycle Management, Microsoft Project (and other scheduling toolsets), Jira and Confluence
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
Desirable:
- Good knowledge and understanding of project control system principals
- Experience of Earned Value performance management

The Service Operations PM team:
A unique and interesting opportunity has arisen within the team for a Project Manager to operate cross sector, focusing on the delivery of engineering Through Life Support Services for the Dreadnaught Programme (Submarines – Maritime & Land Sector). This will involve complex stakeholder management interfaces across Fast Jet Support, Falcon works and Submarines and utilisation of PM skills to generate effective plans & drive efficiencies to meet a challenging milestone plan & recurring KPI’s.
The Service Operations PM team operate within the Support and Services Delivery Unit within the Air Sector providing embedded delivery PM leads for engineering services across various support engineering operations.
