The Opportunity
Dr Barbara Sturm is seeking a Global Visual Merchandising Manager to join our in-house SDVM team. It is an extremely exciting time to join Dr Barbara Sturm, in its period of growth after its acquisition by Puig. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Visual Merchandising, you will play a pivotal role in designing visual concepts for new product campaigns and execute evergreen visual merchandising strategies that have direct impact on the business and deliver impactful retail experiences worldwide. Your expertise in 3D design, materiality, and visual storytelling will be key in shaping the brand's global retail presence across all markets.
What you'll get to do
- Create visually compelling and innovative design concepts for product campaigns, seasonal launches, and evergreen point-of-sale merchandise. Bring new ideas to life that align with the brand's vision and customer experience strategy. Own creation and updates of campaign launch guidelines and manage timely release to local market teams.
- Work closely with the Head of Global VM, creative brand team and global marketing to ensure that all visual merchandising concepts are consistent and on-brand. Develop relationship with local VM teams across regions to ensure design executions align with global standards. Support market teams when local dynamics and cultural nuances needs to be considered.
- Work closely with Global Graphic Design team and Head of Copy ensuring all graphic VM elements are briefed on time and language is consistent across all touchpoints.
- Ensure the Head of Global VM is always up to date on all deliverables. Working closely with Store Design & Visual Merchandise Project Manager to align on timelines and project statuses.
- Use SketchUp, layout and V-Ray to create high-quality 3D visualizations, renderings and detail drawings. Ensure designs are realistic, feasible, and in line with the brand's aesthetic and customer journey.
- Apply a deep understanding of materials, textures, and finishes to select the most appropriate materials for each design concept considering sustainability guidelines where applicable.
- Create and maintain evergreen visual merchandising concepts for point-of-sale displays, ensuring consistency and relevance across all markets. Develop scalable designs that can be adapted for different store formats and geographic regions. Own updates of global VM guidelines and master planograms.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams and external vendors to ensure that selected materials are available, of high quality, and within budget. Oversee prototype production process, ensuring all elements meet design specifications and deadlines.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality control in design execution, making sure all visual elements are consistent with the brand's identity and visual guidelines. Conduct regular site visits (when possible) to ensure optimal implementation in stores.
We'd love to meet you if you have
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Product Design, VM, Interior or Retail Design or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail design, or interior design with a proven track record of creating innovative retail concepts. Experience working in luxury beauty is preferred.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of 3D rendering, spatial design, and creating photorealistic renderings.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, textures, and finishes considering sustainability, durability and brand aesthetic.
- Strong ability to conceptualize and create visually stunning designs that align with the brand's aesthetic and elevate the customer experience. Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong team player with ability to work autonomously when required. Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative brand team and regional retail teams.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well within a small team.
- Knowledge of global design trends and the ability to create solutions that resonate across diverse markets. Comfort with working across different cultures and regions to create adaptable designs. Experience working on international rollouts or high-volume visual merchandising projects a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas for internal approval clearly and confidently to senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
