The Opportunity

Dr Barbara Sturm is seeking a Senior Store Designer who will work as an integral part of our in-house Store Design team supporting the execution of new store design projects. They will lead in the execution of permanent retail design spaces, working alongside our Project Management team and Visual Merchandising team whilst working directly with our markets to assist in the execution of their projects.

Reporting directly to the Global Retail Design & VM Director, they will be responsible for for ensuring a smooth flow of projects, identifying potential risks and working with the director to resolve, ensure quality of output is to the highest standard.

The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, mature and clear communication style and proficient in CAD and 3D Modelling programs. They should be energetic, passionate and kind.

It is an extremely exciting time to join Dr Barbara Sturm, in its period of growth after its acquisition by Puig. The ideal candidate will have direct impact on the evolution of the retail design of the brand as we enter new markets.

What you'll get to do

  • Collaborating with our Project management team and Business Development function to validate new regional briefs for Retail Design.
  • Efficiently prioritise retail design projects in relation to the need of the business.
  • Instigate the spatial planning and design development for each project through 3D modelling (Sketch Up & V-Ray) aligned with the project's deliverables.
  • Collaborate with VM, Education and Markets teams throughout the design development process.
  • Innate passion and enthusiasms for bringing new ideas and concepts to the design table to further elevate and develop the retail design and experience of the brand.
  • Identifying when and what external resources maybe required for the successful completion of projects and confidently briefing and managing this from end to end.
  • Lead in building out material specifications for the brand as well as locating and assessing new suppliers ensuring Puig ESG requirements are recognized.
  • Lead weekly and bi-weekly market calls to discuss status updates on regional projects and provide the markets with the relevant tools and guidance required.
  • Owner of the brands corporate architectural handbook and responsible for its upkeep and maintenance.
  • Provide weekly status updates to the Global Retail Design & VM Director in a clear and coherent manner.

We'd love to meet you if you have

  • BA in Interior Design, Architecture, or Industrial Design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Vectorworks, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
  • Proficient in Sketch-Up and VRay for Sketch-up.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing techniques and construction along with material behaviours.
  • Experience with working on global projects recognising the importance of procurement routes and limitations.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining a clear and sensible department filing system ensuring all retail design projects are accurately recorded.
  • Experience with locating, assessing and onboarding new suppliers globally.
  • Strong leadership skills in recognizing clear project pathways and maturity to flag any risks and provide solutions.
  • Experience working with Luxury Brands understanding the importance of consumer experience.
  • Experience working alongside market teams and collaborating with their retail partners.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well within a small team.
