Location - Birmingham x 2 roles
Salary Base salary: £35,244 pa to c.£41,464 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Document Control Manager at HS2 you will lead the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of document management and control processes, procedures and systems in their related area. Manage the performance of Document Controllers and ensuring the successful delivery of business strategy, key performance indicators and objectives, whilst adhering to industry standards and best practice.
About the Role
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI
- Assure the business adheres to document control policies, processes and practices.
- Provide advice and support to the business on document management and control.
- Understand departmental document control requirements and resource these through our document control provider.
- Lead and guide document controllers throughout the organisation and supply chain on how to manage documents and deliverables.
- Develop and deliver training in document control practices and systems.
- Performance manage the team to ensure that agreed service levels are maintained and that the team is high performing.
- Implement document/data management solutions with a primary focus on document control and records management to ensure HS2 project records are controlled, stored, retrieved, tracked, traced and audited as needed by the business.
- Manage the Document Control teams within the HS2 organisation, setting strategic, individual and corporate objectives, reviewing performance and ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and understanding to deliver the team's objectives.
- Protect the confidentially, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction to ensure HS2's information systems are not at risk.
About You Skills
- Communication skills - including presentations, producing reports and engaging colleagues across the organisation
- Leadership skills with a strong focus in areas of consistency, team work, listening, influencing, challenging, coaching, development, performance management.
- Management of electronic document management systems
Knowledge
- Knowledge of document control and its regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of contract management and the review and acceptance of deliverables
- Knowledge of document management standards, processes and procedures;
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Bridge (eB);
- Working knowledge of bulk scanning systems and PDF functionality;
- Knowledge of the document requirements of ISO 9001.
- Knowledge of the Public Records Act 1958 and Section 46 Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Type of Experience
- Experience in electronic document management systems, records tracking, archiving, retention and storage.
- Experience of documentation processes and a knowledge of a typical project lifecycle;
- Experience in the management and lifecycle of documentation between client, contractor, stakeholders and interested parties.
