£70,000 plus £5,688 car allowance per annum

About the role
We're looking for an experienced Distribution Manager to support day-to-day DC operations and play a key role in developing a colleague identified as a future DC Manager successor. You'll provide hands-on coaching and exposure across key areas including financial acumen, influencing skills, project & stakeholder management and succession planning.
This role is ideal for a strong leader who enjoys developing talent while keeping the operation running smoothly.
Responsible for leading the 24/7 operation ensuring visionary leadership , strategic thinking ,effective cost control and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set by the Business. Maintaining compliance with legislation and delivering through the Smiths News Values and Sustainability goals.

About you
- Experienced Operations Leader- managing, motivating and developing colleagues to cultivate a performance culture
- Previous experience in project management- being part of a team and leading a team
- Previous experience in a time sensitive environment with various sites and managers
- Proven experience of managing change and initiating improvements, maintaining objectives/KPIs
- Previous experience of recruitment and selection
