The Opportunity
We are looking for a Dispatch Manager on full time basis based in Preston. This role is responsible for the effective management of the Warehouse function for outbound goods. The Dispatch Manager will ensure workplace health and safety requirements, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) are maintained and that the agreed targets for customer service are achieved. Under direction from the Branch Manager, this role will liaise with the transport provider to ensure that delivery to the customer is timely, with any delays communicated, cost effective and within the parameters of agreements.
In this role
• Supervise the dispatch of products in the Campbell's Warehouse, including overseeing the handling, dispatch and distribution for all outbound orders from the warehouse/s within the agreed service levels, establishing or adjusting staffing levels and assigning workload to optimize the efficiency of the outbound operations.
• Liaise with and maintain the relationship between transport carriers and the customers, to ensure customer service is a priority and maintained at the required levels., oversee and implement processes or minimize shrinkage in the dispatch area.
• Ensure activities uphold all Chain of Responsibility requirements Undertake continuous improvement.
• Supervise staff providing feedback and managing performance issues, train new employees and existing stakeholders when required.
• Workplace Safety Supervision include ensure all OHS, company policies and legislation is adhered to at all times, adhere to correct manual handling procedures
• Manage the escalation of any non-compliance issues with the 3PL, Dispatch Team and engage the Branch Manager as required.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure all operational issues are resolved in a timely manner, ensuring customer service and company objectives are never compromised, and escalate any potential issues that impact the customer in a timely manner to the Branch Manager.
• You will operate a small fleet of trucks and work with 3PL providers. You will be leading a team of drivers and pick packers.
You're likely a Match if
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience and Dispatch Supervisor experience is preferable.
• Warehousing and Distribution qualification is desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of CoR requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills, a powerful and clear communicator who motivates and inspires others; can collaborate with others to achieve company results and objectives.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
