Job summary

We are looking to appoint a Directorate Support Manager in Acute Services who will help to improve and develop the following specialties: Clinical Pharmacology, Acute Medicine, General Medicine, Department of Medicine for the Elderly and Palliative Care.

You will have a drive and passion to work with a multidisciplinary team to make a difference in these areas to provide excellent patient care. Working closely with consultants, nursing and operational colleagues to support delivery of national targets and internal professional standards.

Main duties of the job

You will support the team in providing excellent patient care by bringing motivation and initiative to challenge new ways of working to help deliver the key national targets. Communication is key, as with a broad range of specialties there will be multiple stakeholders that will need to be involved in the improvements and running of our services.

You will have responsibility of managing staff and supporting them to perform affectively against their roles. You will also have oversight of the Consultant and Junior Doctors rota's in Medicine, working alongside a Rota Co-ordinator, Medical Staffing, Consultants and your Deputy Operations Manager to ensure areas are at a safe staffing level.

You will work with and analyse data to produce reports which will support the planning, development and implementation of service improvement, capital and other projects for the areas of responsibility.
