About the role
As we scale globally, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Testing to lead QA, verification, testing, and validation across Riverlane's world-class engineering teams.
In this newly created role, you will drive the quality, reliability, and performance of our groundbreaking products by leading and coordinating testing, verification, and validation activities across Riverlane's talented engineering teams. Reporting to the VP, Engineering, this is a leadership role that combines technical expertise with strategic planning and people management. This role is a great opportunity for a Principal-level professional with proven leadership experience, who is ready to take the next step into a senior leadership role.
What you will do
- Own the QA strategy across engineering, ensuring rigorous verification, testing, and validation of hardware and software products.
- Coordinate and oversee testing, verification, and validation plans across multiple teams.
- Drive hiring plans to scale a high-performing QA and test organisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support verification and testing initiatives and provide guidance on validation activities.
- Implement best practices, processes, and frameworks for testing across the company, that ensure robust, scalable, and reliable products.
- Act as a technical and strategic leader in a matrixed, fast-moving environment, influencing product design, development timelines, and release readiness.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to engineering managers and individual contributors within testing teams.
Requirements
What we need
- Significant experience in QA, verification, and testing within semiconductor companies.
- Strong understanding of verification and testing methodologies; experience with validation is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading multiple teams in a matrixed organisation.
- Experience in hiring, developing, high performing technical teams.
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, able to influence across technical and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environment.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Highly motivated with enthusiasm and commitment to achieve ambitious targets
- A resilient problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
- Excitement to be part of a category-defining quantum computing company with a global mission to enable utility scale quantum computing
