Director of Student Support Services - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Based in Weybridge, with support to Ashford, Surrey campus as required.

We are seeking a passionate individual to join our vibrant college as Director of Student Services. In this pivotal role, you will be an integral and outstanding manager, acting as a role model to all other staff and students across the college, shaping the student experience and ensuring their success.

About the role:

As Director of Student Support Services, you will lead on enhancing the students' experience, in developing the knowledge and skills beyond purely academic and vocational, to enable our students to build resilience, become active engaged citizens and to better understand their career opportunities and progression pathways. Your role will include, but not be limited to:

Take a lead in promoting the College's ethos and values

  • Take responsibility for overseeing the student disciplinary process where this involves outside agencies such as the police.
  • With the Head of Admissions & Communications, oversee and co-ordinate PR, marketing and advertising activity
  • Provide an effective careers programme that offers advice, experience and contact with employers
  • With the Head of Personal Development, lead the development and implementation of the personal development program, ensuring that students have access to the resources and enrichment opportunities to foster wider skills and engagement with the local community.
  • Ensure the production of reports, statistics and other documentation as required by the Principal/ CEO and for consideration by the senior management team, relevant college committees, the Governing Body and others as appropriate

To fulfil the role of Director of Student Support Services, you will have:

  • An in-depth understanding of the features of a high-quality student experience beyond the academic
  • Degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification
  • PGCE/Certificate in Education or equivalent - highly desirable
  • Knowledge of educational context and key priorities of government policy
  • A sound knowledge of ALS and EHCP processes
  • Excellent team leadership and management skills
  • Effective communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
