The Team

KPMG's Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for a Director role, with a Banking focus and experience of delivering Cost and Operational strategy and Enterprise-wide Transformation.

The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG's rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 150[DH1] practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG's broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business.

Our Strategy and Performance Transformation team works closely with c-suite and senior executives to identify and execute transformation opportunities that add and protect value for shareholders, employees and society. As the world continues to face unprecedented levels of change through rising customer expectations, digitalisation and, we have experienced remarkable market demand for our core services of i) Enterprise-wide Transformation; ii) Performance Improvement and; iii) Growth Strategy. We are now accelerating our mission to create value, by turning ambitions into reality, through executing sustainable, fair and profitable business strategies, at pace.

The Role

To be an effective Director within our Strategy & Performance Transformation applicants will be expected to:

• Build, commercialise and sustain deep C-level relationships to support the Strategy Group's growth
• Be seen as the 'go to' person and a trusted advisor by senior executives in Banking
• Understand the key disruptors in Banking and how they are impacting the financial, business and operating models of companies
• Lead the design of large, complex engagements and take overall responsibility for successful delivery
• Undertake scoping and fee negotiation on large, complex engagements
• Build and maintain a strong Strategy Group, internal KPMG and external network
• Proactively manage risks and ensure that Firm's risks management frameworks are adhered to
• Inspire, motivate coach and develop project team members and appraisees, and give constructive 360-degree feedback
• Identify, design and lead critical complex practice development initiatives, coordinating other members of the team

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Work Experience:

• Demonstrable years' experience working in a leading strategy house, Big 4 firm, or boutique
• Detailed understanding of the value drivers within Banking
• Track record of leading high-value complex projects in Banking with multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting, corporate or public sector environment
• Experience of managing or supporting high-value business development activities with C-level stakeholders
• Demonstrable ability to build and commercialise relationships with senior executives

Technical skills:

• Strong academic track record
• Ability and track record of commercialising relationships
• Evidence of strong problem-solving & analytical capabilities
• Structured thinking skills combined with creativity
• Ability to talk credibly with C-level clients on the key issues and strategic considerations facing the industry
• Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed
• Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Other language skills would be a strong bonus
