Deloitte's Tax Technology Consulting team (TTC) is a market leader, uniquely combining consulting, technology, tax technical expertise, and reporting capabilities. As a single European team, we help businesses navigate the complexities of multi-jurisdictional tax operations, encompassing compliance, reporting, technology, and risk management.

Our rapidly growing Tax ERP team is at the forefront of SAP and Oracle enabled business transformations, providing a key differentiator for Deloitte's firm-wide Technology & Transformation (T&T) practice across the UK and Europe. Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership support into defining and executing the strategic vision for the Tax ERP team, aligning with Deloitte's overall business goals.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging your network and industry expertise.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and thought leader.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the successful delivery of complex Tax ERP projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Financial Management: Manage project budgets and profitability, ensuring the financial health of the team.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with Deloitte's risk management framework.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and thought leadership within the Tax ERP domain.
  • Lead client engagements: Act as the delivery lead on large and complex Tax ERP projects, incl. leading client workshops, analysing tax and business needs, and designing optimal tax technology solutions, incl. considering alternative technologies.
  • End-to-end process understanding: Assess tax touchpoints across entire end-to-end business processes (incl. cross-stream integration with other functional workstreams, such as order to cash, source to pay, record to report etc.), ensuring comprehensive solution design.
  • Impact assessment: Evaluate the business impact of technical decisions, balancing functionality with operational efficiency.
  • Proactive risk management: Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, fostering strong client relationships.
  • Documentation and communication: Lead and drive client delivery, pursuits and opportunities, incl. contributing to proposals, process documentation, and project updates, ensuring transparency and stakeholder alignment.
  • Compliance and risk awareness: Adhere to risk management and engagement acceptance protocols, upholding professional standards.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

Core skills required:

  • Proven track record of successful ERP tax solution design, having undertaken a minimum of 4-5 end-to-end implementations in global settings.
  • Has a minimum of one of the following:
  • SAP, deep functional expertise of SAP FI/SD/MM modules including the setup of underlying SAP business processes (e.g. intercompany billing 3rd party drop-shipments, consignment etc) as well as their interplay with tax processes; and/or
  • Oracle, deep functional expertise of Oracle (Cloud ERP), including the set-up of underlying business processes (e.g. TP and intercompany, order management, or supply chain, etc), as well as their interplay with tax processes in wider ERP and EPM modules.
  • End to end implementation experience with at least one tax engine (e.g. Thomson Reuters, Vertex, Avalara, SOVOS etc.) incl. integration with one of the ERPs, either SAP or Oracle; or ERP / VAT add-ons (e.g. Meridian, Taxmarc etc.); or building chain transaction related tax design using native ERP.
  • Understanding of the tax touchpoints with additional ERP integrated modules/add-ons (e.g. VIM/Readsoft, Ariba/Coupa or their competitors).
  • Experience with end-to-end integration of at least one or more of i) e-invoicing or e-reporting platforms/providers (including but not limited to SAP DRC, Pagero, EDICOM, SOVOS etc.); ii) indirect tax compliance technology; iii) direct tax engine and/ tax reporting solution; iv) operational transfer pricing solution; or other tax technology software.
  • Experience in scoping and pricing large scale engagements.
  • Strong client-facing consulting skills: gathering requirements, managing expectations, and building relationships.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Proven track record of building and developing juniors, to build high performing teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in matrix teams and manage diverse stakeholder groups.

Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international M&A, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
