Director - Royalty Income
Join BMG's team as the Director - Royalty Income, where you will lead income receipts for UK and our Sub publishing territories, to ensure complete royalty collections across all business functions, namely: Recorded music rights, Neighbouring rights and Publishing.
Key Responsibilities.
- Lead and develop the Royalty Income team for Recorded Music, Neighbouring Rights, Publishing and Sub-publishing.
- Manage the accurate and timely processing of royalty statements from multiple sources.
- Liaise with Finance teams to ensure invoicing activities are carried out as required and to deadlines.
- Identify areas where revenue has not been received as expected and act accordingly to track and chase.
- Maintain and develop the relationship with Distributors, Sub-Publishers and other income sources to ensure that receipts are processed accurately within the SLA.
- Work closely with key departments at BMG specifically Finance, Legal and Supply Chain.
- Spearhead activity to automate processes where appropriate and to drive efficiency within the team
- Support various and ad hoc projects as required.
Your Profile.
- Advanced understanding of royalty statements and core royalty functions, ideally in a music environment.
- Previous experience in a royalty accounting and distribution environment.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Advance Excel skills.
- Experience with tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Passion for record labels & music rights administration.
- Have an exceptional attention for detail.
- Ability to prioritise and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines.
It's a plus if you also have experience handling, enriching and manipulating large data files in excess of a million records (Excel Power Query, Python etc.).
