Director of REF, KEF and Research Impact

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

About Us

King's is a leading research-intensive university, covering a wide range of research disciplines and with significant interdisciplinary collaboration. Our research has substantial impact across a wide range of domains, including health, science & engineering, social policy and the arts.

This role is a key, senior position within the King's Research Management & Innovation Directorate (RMID), which provides expertise in research and innovation management, policy and strategy for the entire university.

About the Role

The Director of REF, KEF and Research Impact provides leadership - in partnership with the Dean of Academic Research Excellence Frameworks - for the university's preparations for (and submissions to) the Research Excellence and Knowledge Exchange Frameworks. It also aims to enhance the understanding, prioritisation and delivery of research impact across the university (including public engagement with research).

The Director will lead a team of c.13 specialist staff, and will also coordinate the efforts of a wide range of academic and professional services staff across the university to deliver optimal outcomes in REF and KEF.

The role reports to the Director of Research Management & Innovation, with a "dotted" line to the Dean of Academic Research Excellence Frameworks (and through both to the Vice-President (Research & Innovation). This is a senior position, critical to the university's success - and is therefore a member of leadership-level committees.

This is a full time post, and you will be offered an indefinite contract, with hybrid working possible.
