Job Description

Our Programme Advisory business, set up in 2018, offers services to clients in the strategy, set-up and transition and transformation of their capability to deliver major programmes and projects both in the UK and globally, with a market leading client base across the public and private sectors. We provide diverse advisory services to our clients including Strategy, Transformation and Change, Organisation Design & Effectiveness, Commercial Strategy, Programme Management Advisory, Business Case & Funding Advisory, Regulatory Advisory and Controls & Performance.

Our success is driving the expansion of our UK team, and we require a Project Director/Director to lead our major client engagements as well as drive continued growth of Business Case & Funding Advisory services. The successful candidate will influence the strategic direction with a focus on our Business Case & Funding Advisory proposition with particular focus in Defence and/or Clean Energy & Decarbonisation.

Job Description

Due to our continued support across a number of sectors, in particular, defence, nuclear, low carbon (incl. carbon capture, hydrogen and heat networks) and a sustainability focus in water, waste, and surface mobility projects we have an opportunity and are currently seeking applications.

This role will require you to:

  • To grow the Business Case & Funding Advisory service in the UK, increasing market share and influence in the sector.
  • Identify, sell, mobilise and lead delivery of consultancy engagements.
  • To be an inspirational and strategic thinker that can help shape our clients' agendas relating to their organisations and early in the lifecycle of their programmes.
  • Ability to guide and lead internal teams, offering a strong point of focus for the business.
  • Ability to grow strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members. The job requires the holder to build trust with clients, industry partners and colleagues, and maintain their 'One Business' ethos.
  • Provide clear direction on behalf of clients, translating into trust and confidence in the organisation's ability to deliver.
  • To build the best team so that they can be the best in the market.
  • Effectively manage risks and maximize commercial returns, applying business acumen.

Qualifications

To be an attractive candidate for our business in this role you will possess some of the following attributes:

  • Must be able to attain UK MoD Security Clearance.
  • Degree or MBA qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience of government HMT Greenbook business case development and successfully delivery through assurance (preferably with de-carbonisation and Net Zero experience).
  • Skilled in client handling, relationship management, sales, solution / proposition development.
  • Skilled in shaping, mobilising and leading consultancy projects.
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills able to work and thrive in a multi stakeholder environment.
  • A natural gravitas in dealings with clients, with a 'making the difference' approach.
  • Proven experience in preparing, defining and delivering bid proposals.
  • Broader proven experience in the following sectors will be viewed favourably: renewable / clean energy and decarbonization, transport, water services, government services.
