Director of Product

Department: Product

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: UK - London

Description

This role is reporting into the CTO and taking on a mix of hands-on Product Management, people management and department leadership responsibilities. We are organised into 3 areas of Product development, and this role will oversee the 2 areas concerned with a new product direction and UX/Growth. It will also oversee the continued integration of an acquired product into Exclaimer. The role is a peer to another Director of Product, who looks after core systems and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Specifically, expectations in the 9 months are:

  1. Line management for people
  2. Oversee delivery and evolution of the 'Martech' product roadmap.
  3. Product Management of the 'Growth' product pillar. We have recently introduced a dedicated Growth pillar with 2 small engineering/design squads who specialize in frontend development. There is huge product and business potential in improving the UX and self-service capabilities in the product, and this area is targeted with increasing conversion for onboarding and upgrading in the product. This area has spent one quarter on deploying quick fixes to key journeys, as well as gathering data and redesigning journeys ready for development. A Product Manager is needed to drive the work and interface with key sales and support leaders in the org.
  4. Joining the Product and Technology Leadership Team. We are a tight-knit team who take collective responsibility for running all technology and product teams. We meet weekly and run regular planning and strategy sessions, as well as presenting to company executive leadership.
  5. Producing Material for QBR and Board Activities. As necessary, this role will provide materials on product performance, strategy, and future plans. This is not a time-consuming element of the role, but the candidate taking this on needs to be comfortable with leadership reporting and potentially presenting.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will need to be:

  1. Comfortable with hands on product work, especially aligned with growth targets and GTM activities and teams.
  2. A confident communicator, both with technical teams and across the business.
  3. A proven people manager and leader, who can support and enable the product team to produce their best work.
  4. Comfortable working in a hybrid environment. We encourage 2-3 days a week in the office, and need to be mindful that we have a lot of people fully remote who need to be kept well-connected to the work and teams.
  5. Ready to join a team that pushes for velocity, transparency, and empathetic leadership. We are curious, driven and we move as a team. Whilst we all have our areas of responsibility, we're in it together and leave our egos at the door.

Benefits

We offer you a challenging job in a growing international software company with a competitive remuneration structure. You will be part of a fun and hardworking team.

We don't expect you to tick every box; if you get warm fuzzy feelings about what we're trying to achieve at Exclaimer, then we want to hear from you!

  • Join a fast-growing SaaS company
  • Work in an exciting, collaborative environment
  • Hybrid/remote working
  • Casual dress code
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Paid Time Off

NOTE: We work flexibly at Exclaimer (choose a work from home/office arrangement that suits you!). Some meetings and planning sessions would be in either our Farnborough or London office so some travel/in office attendance preferred.
