Your Key Responsibilities - Client Delivery & Leadership
- Lead complex, multi-stream operations transformation programmes with our Banking clients
- Advise C-suite stakeholders on target operating models, cost transformation, and operational resilience
- Deliver large-scale change across onboarding, operations, customer servicing, distribution, lending, onboarding/KYC, and back-office processing
- Ensure delivery of measurable outcomes including cost efficiency, risk reduction, and improved customer experience
- Oversee programme governance, regulatory alignment, and risk management

In an environment defined by consolidation, increased competition, cost constraints, and rapid digitisation, our Banking clients are facing significant strategic questions. As a Director in our Operations Transformation practice, you will lead large-scale transformation programmes across retail and commercial banking.
You will work alongside senior client leaders to redesign operating models, optimise processes, and embed tech capabilities (e.g. automation, AI) that drive sustainable performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
Business Development & Growth
- Originate and lead sales efforts, contributing to revenue growth within the Banking (Financial Services) industry group
- Bring trusted client relationships with senior stakeholders across retail and commercial banks
- Lead proposal development, RFP responses, and client pitches
- Identify opportunities to expand accounts and cross-sell broader firm capabilities (e.g. Risk, Technology, Deals, Strategy)
Practice & Market Leadership
- Develop thought leadership on key industry topics such as digital / AI enabled operations, cost transformation, and regulatory change
- Build and deploy leading practice methodologies, tools, and assets
- Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated, end-to-end transformation solutions
People Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple engagements
- Coach and mentor Managers, Senior Managers and Associate Directors, supporting career development and progression
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture aligned with Deloitte values
- Act as a role model reflecting quality, integrity, and professionalism in every interaction
Connect to your skills and professional experience
- Strong understanding of banking operating models and environments and regulatory landscape with experience working with UK and/or global retail and commercial banks
- Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation programmes with tangible results
- Commercial mindset with a track record of originating and closing work
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders with credibility
- Strong programme leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience navigating complex, matrixed organisations
- 12-15+ years' experience in consulting or industry, working with Banking clients (Retail / Commercial)
- Demonstrated experience delivering large transformation within banking, (incl. onboarding, operations, customer servicing, distribution, lending, onboarding/KYC, and back-office processing)
- Track record in business development and managing senior client relationships
- Experience building and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
- Experience within a Big Four Consulting firms or leading consulting organisation (MBBs)
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g. Basel III, Solvency II, FCA requirements)
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms (e.g. workflow automation, data analytics, core systems transformation)
- Professional certifications (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, PRINCE2, Agile)
Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
