We are entering an important phase of growth and are creating a new Director of Operations role to help shape the next stage of our impact and scale.

Animal Trust is building a distinctive, purpose-led model of veterinary care. One that combines access, quality, efficiency, and compassion. We want to help more pets, support more communities, and continue growing as a leading accessible provider with national reach.

As Director of Operations, you will lead our non-clinical operations across surgeries, hospitals, and central services. You will bring clarity, pace, and consistency to a complex multi-site environment, leading teams, systems, and standards that enable exceptional, accessible, and cost-effective service delivery at scale.

This is a key Senior Leadership Team appointment. It has been created to strengthen our operating model by providing clear leadership for non-clinical operations, working alongside our Director of Veterinary Services, who leads clinical operations. Together, these roles will help build a more scalable organisation with stronger delivery and greater capacity to extend access to care.

We are looking for a proven operational leader with significant multi-site experience, ideally gained in a regulated, professionally led, customer-facing environment. You may have built your career in healthcare or in another complex service business where quality, consistency, and operational discipline are critical. You will combine strategic judgement with a hands-on approach, be comfortable leading through complexity, and know how to deliver at pace without losing grip on the detail.

This role will suit an ambitious leader who has played a significant part in transformational growth in a mid-sized or larger organisation and is ready for broader executive responsibility. It will also appeal to someone with deep senior experience who wants to apply their skills in a growing, purpose-led organisation with real momentum. Either way, you will bring the credibility, judgement, and energy to help Animal Trust scale its impact and strengthen access to care.

Location & Reward:

The preferred base for this role is Ellesmere Port or Warrington, although other Animal Trust locations may be considered for the right candidate. Significant travel across our surgery network will be required.

In addition to base salary, an exceptional candidate may also be eligible to participate in a long-term incentive plan.
