  • Director Of Marketing
  • £50,000 per annum
  • Full Time
  • Permanent
  • Reference: 6204

About Ipswich School - we are one of the foremost independent schools in East Anglia and are proud to be regularly ranked as Suffolk's top independent School. We were established before 1399 and moved to our present site in 1852. We are a co-educational school with around 1100 pupils aged between 3 months and 18 years and we operate a five-day week. The School comprises a Senior School with over 880 pupils aged from 11 to 18, and the Prep School with 230 pupils aged from 5 to 11. The Lodge Day Nursery provides the very best care for our youngest children aged from 3 months to 5 years. We were judged in September 2022, by ISI Inspectors, to be Excellent in all categories.

About you - we seek a highly motivated and charismatic person to lead the School's marketing activities. You will have significant experience of managing a marketing, sales or customer care function in a relevant environment. You will be keen to promote Ipswich School to a wide variety of people, and someone who understands and believes in the school's long and distinguished history, and its position as a Charity, and who seeks a pivotal role in the future well-being of the School.

This is a role that requires great vision, intelligence, creative flair, attention to detail, strong leadership skills, high levels of organisation, and a willingness and ability to plan strategically and ensure delivery. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build fruitful and positive relationships with a broad range of people, and the ability to galvanise key stakeholders.

Working hours

  • This is a full-time, permanent post, subject to the satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period.
  • The typical, core working hours will be Mondays - Fridays throughout the year, with a 'normal' daily working pattern being 8.30 am - 5.00 pm, 37.5 hours per week.
  • There may be some flexibility with the start and finish times. This can be discussed at interview with shortlisted candidates. However, due to the senior nature of this role, and the range of responsibilities involved, flexibility with working hours will be required.
  • The role will require attendance at functions and events, which may take place in the evenings and weekends, inside and outside of term time.

Salary and Benefits

  • The starting salary for this role will be up to £50,000 per annum, and will depend on your skills and experience.
  • You will be entitled to 30 days' paid holiday per year plus public holidays.
  • Free lunch is provided in the School Dining Hall during term time when the kitchen is in operation.
  • Staff are able to use the School's swimming pool and fitness gym free of charge.
  • You will be auto enrolled into the School's defined contribution pension scheme, with 10% employer contributions and x3 life cover.
  • You will have access to Smarthealth, an employee wellbeing app providing you with 24/7 GP access and mental health support.
  • You will be entitled to generous fee remission (currently 50%) on the successful completion of your probationary period, and this can be discussed in greater depth at interview with shortlisted candidates.
