About the role

To support our ambitious growth plans we are looking for a Director of Marketing who will report to our Chief Commercial Officer. This role is intended to support the continuing successful growth of the company by taking a lead role in raising awareness of our business profile and brand amongst a specific and highly specialised scientific community. It will also play a key role in the strategic development and delivery of internal communications and brand awareness to create a strong and durable internal brand.

Principal responsibilities will include

    • Agree and deliver the Company's overall marketing strategy, objectives and initiatives;
    • o this will include identification and focus on high potential clients, sectors and locations

      o designing and delivering the necessary marketing and brand programme to successfully differentiate our offer

      o supporting the ongoing development of the company's 'employer branding' activities

    • Agree with the CEO, CCO and senior BD colleagues the focus for the Company's Annual Marketing Plan by market segment and location. Execute the relevant marketing campaigns and corporate promotion activities to support these. This will include the identification and utilisation of marketing tools for all relevant marketing distribution channels,
    • o with a particular focus on digital marketing as a key element in projecting our brand

      o agreement of the tone(s) of voice that potential clients across the segments will value and delivery of the marketing activities to support this.

      o overall responsibility for the creation and updating of our publicity, merchandising products and company publications, e.g. website content, press releases, blogs, scientific papers, case studies, etc.

    • Responsible for agreeing and working within agreed Marketing budgets and quantifying the cost effectiveness of marketing programmes by regular monitoring progress and submitting quarterly performance reports.
    • Lead role in coordinating promotional events/activities and trade show exhibits/activities. Be a principal agent in dealings with external parties such as media and PR, as well as stakeholders and potential clients

    • New business generation by location and sector
    • Brand Awareness
    • Customer feedback
    • Appropriate, accurate and timely content of Website and other marketing channels
    • Alignment of marketing activities to budget

Person Requirements

    • Degree or professional qualifications (Chartered Institute of Marketing - CIM, MBA) business administration, marketing and communications or a similar relevant area, with an excellent awareness of current marketing thinking and its application.
    • Significant demonstrable experience of successful design and delivery of marketing strategies in an a high growth industry, ideally with a scientific or technical industry
    • Experience working within a Private Equity backed organisation with experience of M&A would be advantageous
    • Well-developed analytical and creative thinking, alongside very effective organisational and prioritisation abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Resourceful, self-motivated and able to take initiative.
