At SeeChange we are seeking to appoint a Director of ML to lead all machine learning engineering and research, and to continue to build our ML team from a strong existing foundation.

The role represents a fantastic and very rare opportunity for an aspiring ML leader, with first class expert knowledge in the field and the desire to shape ML, for a leading Machine Vision company.

The Company

SeeChange is a Manchester based start-up on a mission to create the world's leading "Recognition Platform" - scenario recognition in real-time in the physical world. We have started by establishing a leading position in the retail market, integrating our ML products, based on our platform, into checkouts and CCTV systems. Our products are being used by the worlds leading retailers and are creating efficiencies and making life better for their customers.

SeeChange is based in Manchester's Northern Quarter with a diverse team of Engineers and Business people.

The Role

As the Director of ML you will set the company strategy for ML in its products and services. You will nurture and mentor the ML team and work collaboratively across the company, and with our partners, to create first class products. You will guide the team and keep them abreast of the latest developments in the field of ML. You will be responsible for ensuring the ML is used to best effect in the design of our products, and that all our developments are done using the best standards and practices for software development and engineering.

Finally you will care deeply about the ethical use of AI and guide the company to be regarded as a leader in this.

The Person

You will be a proven hands on leader who is enthusiastic and keen to join us on our mission. You will be able to communicate and influence inside and outside the company, using your skills and experience as an expert in the field of ML and machine vision, with advanced knowledge of ML Ops, Python, C++, PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow and other deep learning frameworks and the use of tools like Databricks.
