Position: Director of Growth - Enterprise Sales and New Business

Location: Remote

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00

Salary: £70,000 - 100,000 depending on experience

Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Growth to lead enterprise customer acquisition for our UK-based apprenticeship business. This is a senior, commercially focused role responsible for winning new enterprise clients across the English apprenticeship landscape.

The Director of Growth will own the full new-business lifecycle from strategy and prospecting through to contract signature, then seamlessly transition customers to the Customer Relationship team to ensure long-term success and retention. This role is critical to scaling our impact, employer partnerships, and apprenticeship starts.

Key elements of this role include:

Enterprise New Business Acquisition

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on winning new enterprise and large multi-site employers within the English apprenticeship market.
  • Personally lead high-value, complex sales cycles with senior stakeholders including HR Directors, L&D leaders, CFOs, and procurement teams.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified enterprise opportunities aligned to strategic growth targets.
  • Position the organisation as a trusted partner in apprenticeships, workforce development, and levy optimisation.

Market & Proposition Leadership

  • Maintain deep expertise in the English apprenticeship system, including levy funding, standards, compliance, and procurement routes.
  • Translate employer workforce challenges into compelling apprenticeship-led solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Marketing teams to refine propositions, pricing, and go-to-market messaging for enterprise clients.

Sales Process & Handover

  • Own opportunities through to signed agreement, ensuring commercial, contractual, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Deliver a structured and effective handover of new clients to the Account Management team, ensuring clarity on scope, objectives, and success measures.
  • Support early-stage relationship transition where required to ensure a strong foundation for long-term partnership.

Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a senior commercial leader and ambassador for the business within the employer, partner, and industry ecosystem.
  • Influence senior internal stakeholders with data-driven insights on pipeline health, market trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to wider business strategy, forecasting, and revenue planning.

Requirements

What skills and experience we need from you:

  • Proven track record of winning new enterprise or large employer customers, ideally within apprenticeships, education, training
  • Deep understanding of the English apprenticeship system, including levy mechanics and employer decision-making
  • Strong consultative selling capability with experience managing long, complex sales cycles
  • Commercially astute with the ability to negotiate and close high-value, multi-year agreements
  • Experience working cross-functionally with delivery, operations, and account management teams
  • Confident engaging and influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externally
