We are looking for an experienced and commercially aware Director of FP&A to own budgeting, financial and scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and forecasting. The Director of FP&A plays a pivotal role in steering the financial direction of the business and is responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the company's long-term goals. The role involves understanding the business's current financial landscape and anticipating future trends and challenges. The rolerequires the creation of a detailed financial model that projects future revenues, expenses, and cash flows. The Director of FP&A must ensure that budgets and forecasts are accurate and based on reliable data. The Director of FP&A will work closely with senior management to provide commercially actionable insights and recommendations that drive strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and update the Company financial model. This currently includes only a P&L and needs to be expanded and updated to include a Balance Sheet and Cash Flow;
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process partnering with the broader finance team;
  • Oversee the quarterly forecasting process partnering with the broader finance team;
  • Work with the broader finance team to evolve systems and processes to ensure accurate, detailed financial reporting;
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives and functional leadership;
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities;
  • Analyse financial results, providing insights and recommendations to senior management;
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis and modelling;
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports;
  • Develop dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping business units to make informed financial decisions;
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function;
  • Leverage financial software and tools to streamline reporting and analysis processes;
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in financial planning and analysis;
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making;
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the financial impact of various business decisions;
  • Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and strategies;

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus;
  • Strong management and leadership skills, willing to both roll up your sleeves and be a thoughtful, company-wide partner;
  • Desire to be an integral part of building something world-class;
  • Expert Excel skills, including modelling and data analytics;
  • Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations and Power BI expertise a significant advantage;
  • A sharp intellect with a curiosity to understand the business and its financial levers;
  • Results-oriented, organised, efficient and resourceful team player who excels in a dynamic environment;
  • Highly analytical; excellent problem solving skills and commercial acumen;
  • Experience managing and developing a team;
  • A Self Starter and detail oriented;
  • 5+ years FP&A experience; preferably at a company in a similar or related industry;
  • General management mindset; desire to grow professionally as the business grows;
