Job Purpose

Chemify is looking for a Director of FP&A to support existing Finance leadership and staff with on-site presence and liaise between the CFO, management team, and senior staff on a day to day basis in order to improve forecasting through increased communication, sharing, updating, accuracy, depth of information and responsiveness.

Current expansion is rapid with the building of a new factory, increases in staff and commercial engagements and sales. Planning, forecasting, cash flow management (multi-currency) and optimal decision making are critical. There is also a need to be able to analyse costs and ensure we can accurately measure and report margins as commercial sales ramp up.

Further fundraising will take place within the next 12 months thus the accuracy of forecasts, modelling of outcomes, understanding, and ability to explain differing scenarios and outcomes is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of financial reports, models supporting fundraising, operating plans, quarterly forecasts, and internal reporting. Facilitate communication and reporting to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate key corporate decision-making through the use of effective financial analysis tools, processes, and models. Provide summaries and detailed analysis for the financial impact of possible decisions (cost, revenue, balance sheet, etc) against baseline company financial plans.
  • Ensure compliance with existing regulatory frameworks. Assess future needs with management and develop + implement plans to ensure corporate development objectives are met.
  • Support operational modelling of the organization, including cost structure, cost attribution, current and future projections, etc
  • Drive budgeting processes, optimize expense management, and control operational costs.
  • Drive efforts to thoughtfully and efficiently lower costs wherever possible without affecting speed of execution, quality of delivery, and business outcomes.
  • Provide analytical insight to assess new business opportunities.

Requirements

Education

Business / Finance degree preferred

Professional Experience

  • Professional qualification in finance or accounting (MBA and/or CIMA, ACA/CPA preferred).
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP/IFRS and cost accounting practices
  • Experience with both startups and established/public companies preferred
  • Experience with operational modelling of industrial organizations / processes preferred
  • Exceptional proficiency with financial modeling and financial modeling tools
