This position will create and lead successful content and programming across EMEA, in a 365-day journey and holistic view, both financially and programmatically. Provides strong leadership and guidance to staff direct reports resulting in a cohesive group committed to, and with the competency to, achieve annual and long-term goals.

As the Director, Event Content and Programming, you will be entrusted with the critical task of driving the narrative and strategic direction of our event content across EMEA. You will spearhead research initiatives to understand market dynamics and audience preferences, strategize, and execute event content plans aligned with organizational goals, and craft compelling themes for a diverse array of events including conferences and executive summits. You will work with the Global team to build and develop content libraries and programming catalogs, understanding of industry needs, and target segments and markets.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and Execute Comprehensive Event Content Strategy:
    • Formulate and implement a holistic content strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.
    • Utilize thorough research to inform content strategy development, staying abreast of market trends and audience preferences.
    • Deep understanding of the competitive landscape across EMEA, leveraging competitive insight to adjust programming and distribution decisions.
  • Conduct In-depth Research:
    • Conduct extensive research across EMEA to ensure event content relevance and effectiveness.
    • Analyze EMEA market trends, audience behaviors, and competitor strategies to refine event content approaches.
  • Create Compelling Event Content:
    • Employ strong writing and storytelling skills to produce engaging and informative content.
    • Adapt complex ideas into accessible, compelling narratives suitable for diverse audience segments.
    • Provides guidance to subject matter experts, content developers and content editors related to topic selection, content planning, instructional design, development and implementation of educational activities.
  • Clear Articulation and Presentation:
    • Present content concepts coherently to internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational vision.
    • Effectively communicate content strategies and concepts to garner support and engagement.
  • Tailored Event Content Development:
    • Design and develop content tailored for events such as conferences, executive summits, symposiums, and roundtable discussions, ensuring relevance and impact.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to integrate up-to-date insights and perspectives into event content.
  • Collaborative Approach:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive approach to content creation and delivery.
    • Foster collaboration with various departments to leverage expertise and resources for optimal content outcomes.
    • Provide guidance to Lead/Producers, develop and facilitate program advisory boards to help drive the direction of the event program and/or EMEA programming strategy.
    • Provide ongoing communication on the programming and distribution progress to key executive stakeholders.

What you will need to be successful:

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in building networks and content strategies across in-person, virtual, and other engagement methodologies.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in a health information and technology environment, association environment, or other technical environment. Has a comprehensive knowledge of health IT, reflecting an understanding of historic, current and future trends across EMEA as well as the ability to apply that knowledge in the development of future programs.
  • A minimum of seven (7) or more years of successful supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare information and management systems, a plus
  • Exceptional collaborative skills necessary to thrive in a highly-matrixed organization
  • Demonstrates strong competency in project management in regards to multiple and complex projects and process improvement methodology.
  • Excellent verbal, editing and written communication skills, with an ability to logically process complex information.
  • Able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate flexibility and resilience in addressing challenges and embrace new opportunities as they arise.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Experience in event content programming is highly desirable.
