Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Education to a minimum of Masters Degree level or equivalent post graduate qualification or equivalent senior level experience
Desirable criteria
- Degree level or equivalent qualification specifically in a discipline directly related to post
Training
Essential criteria
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development, including specialist training
Desirable criteria
- Associate or Fellow membership of professional bodies pertinent to post e.g. BCS, Assist
- Regular participation and leadership in industry forums and events
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience of working and contributing at a very senior level within an NHS Digital Services Service environment in a similarly complex organisation
- Demonstrable ability to operate and influence at the strategic board level of a complex organisation
- Direct experience of strategic and budgetary planning and financial management and controls
Desirable criteria
- Ability to represent the GCIO, and Trust competently in strategic-level discussions with industry leaders, and/or legal or court situations if required

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
