Director of Children's Social Care Reform and Professional Standards
Location: County Hall, Preston Lancashire
Salary: £97,330 - £108,697 (plus relocation and car allowance)
Reports to: Executive Director for Education and Children's Services
About the role:
Lancashire County Council is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to drive the transformation of Children's Social Care and lead the implementation of the families first programme,
Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic design, planning, and delivery of the families first programme.
- Provide visionary leadership for quality assurance, inspection and safeguarding, early help, and professional standards.
- Work collaboratively with partners across police, health, education, and other agencies to embed reforms and deliver improved outcomes.
- Ensure operational and workforce implications are fully considered in all reforms.
- Deputise for the Director of Children's Social Care at senior forums and statutory boards.
About You
- Proven track record of senior leadership in children's services, with experience of delivering large-scale change and innovation.
- Extensive knowledge of children's social care legislation and Ofsted regulatory standards.
- Experience of building effective partnerships and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively within political environments.
