Role Summary:
The Director of Aftersales will provide strategic and operational leadership across the HMUK and Genesis Aftersales business, encompassing Parts & Accessories, Retailer Field Operations, Technical, Warranty & Quality, Technical Training, Service Sustainability, Digitisation, and Aftersales Marketing & Retention. Ensuring that Customer is the focus on all deliverables.
They will also be responsible for shaping and executing the long-term Aftersales strategy to deliver sustainable growth, innovation, and exceptional customer experiences within a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
This role will suit a strategic and commercially driven automotive leader with a proven record of delivering growth and transformation in Aftersales. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with deep expertise across parts, service, warranty, and technical operations, ideally gained within both OEM and retail environments. Visionary and adaptable, you will anticipate industry shifts such as electrification and digitalisation and translate them into actionable strategy. A natural people leader and influencer, who inspires high-performing teams, build strong stakeholder partnerships, and champion a customer-first culture. We want you to:
Strategic and Commercial Leadership
- Define and deliver the UK Aftersales strategy and annual trading plans to exceed parts profit and service revenue targets.
- Lead sales and marketing initiatives across Aftersales functions, aligning with broader brand and campaign strategies.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring commercial discipline and value creation.
- Identify new business opportunities through data insights, digital platforms, and customer engagement initiatives.
Aftersales Operations
- Oversee all Aftersales operations including warranty, logistics, parts supply, and service campaigns.
- Manage warranty processes, audits, recalls, and compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Partner with logistics providers to ensure operational efficiency and service quality.
Technical and Training Leadership
- Lead the UK Technical Team in delivering timely technical support and solutions to retailers and customers.
- Oversee the national Training Academy to ensure continuous development of retailers and internal capabilities.
- Implement training programmes aligned with emerging technologies, EV platforms, and new product launches.
Stakeholder and Partner Management
- Serve as the key liaison with global Aftersales divisions, translating strategy into actionable UK programmes.
- Manage supplier and partner relationships to ensure performance and cost-effectiveness.
Retailer Network Development
- Enhance retailer Aftersales performance through structured programmes covering standards, facilities, and staff development.
- Ensure consistent execution of Aftersales initiatives across the network.
Customer:
- Ensure the Retailer Network and internal operational teams focus on customer at all levels across the business.
- Working with Hyundai and Genesis HQ to ensure the measurement and development of HCX is market leading and that our Retailer network are driven to improve both the Experience Index and NPS position through Detractor Management
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop teams to achieve excellence in performance and customer outcomes.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within Aftersales and Technical divisions.
Key Accountabilities
- Achievement of annual parts turnover, profit, and warranty recovery targets.
- Delivery of the mid-term Aftersales growth roadmap and performance plan.
- Attainment of retailer satisfaction (HCX/NPS) and retention targets.
- Budget management and operational cost control.
- Continuous improvement of retailer capability and Aftersales competitiveness.
About you:
- Proven senior leadership experience within automotive Aftersales (OEM and/or dealer network).
- Strong commercial and financial management capability.
- In-depth understanding of Aftersales operations and service processes
- Experience leading through transformation and digitalisation.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Graduate or equivalent professional qualification.
- High level of personal drive, integrity, and accountability.
- Flexible and able to travel
