About the Role
We wish to recruit an energetic, insightful and adaptable graduate to lead this digital transformation project through the design, development, and implementation of a bespoke Decision Support System (DSS) for Rise and Recline Ltd (R&R).

This Decision Support System (DSS) will be integrated with existing R&R business systems (e.g. Sage, CRM, R2 production planning and control system, state-of-the-art CNC machines, etc) with embedded AI capability to support human decision-making, upskilling and empowering R&R workforce. This is anticipated to improve R&R's productivity, which includes reduced lead times, waste reduction, exposed hidden capacity, and the establishment of a culture of continuous improvement.

You will have the opportunity to be supported and work alongside world leading academics at NTU and knowledge experts in R&R.

About Rise & Recline Ltd
Founded in 2001, Rise & Recline (R&R) is a bespoke upholstery and furniture manufacturer for the mobility and general comfort market, specialising in adjustable chairs, sofas, and beds. We are proud that our products and services help to improve the well-being of the disabled community with mobility impairment, which is estimated to be 11% of the UK population.

We are based in Long Eaton, a place recognised as the UK centre of quality upholstery manufacture due to its rich heritage in producing high-end upholstery product for both domestic and international market since 1920s

Our 'Build-to-Order' manufacturing strategy enables us to have all our products customised and handmade: built to specific size, shape, and weight, with a range of styling choice and fabric selection, typically within a quick 7-10 days turnaround time. Every chair is Medical Device Registered.

About the Project
This position forms part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded jointly by Innovate UK and Rise & Recline Ltd. As a KTP Associate you will work within Rise & Recline to develop and embed knowledge, with research and academic support from NTU. KTPs offer the ideal opportunity to apply your degree through real work and springboard your career.
