LOCATION

This role will be based in our Leeds office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for a QA Manager to join the Digital Operations team working on the ongoing development of ghdhair.com website. Reporting into the Technical Delivery Manager (TDM), the role is hands on working in conjunction with the QA Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Product Owner/Managers, and other subject matter experts.

You will be responsible for leading the QA function and will ensure quality and stability across the website. The role's mission is all about detail - ensuring functional and non-functional requirements are appropriately delivered and workable solutions are handed over to the Product Owner/Manager.

You will identify and define relevant tests cycles, monitor the testing output, prioritise and manage defect resolution and ensure the overall test quality and accuracy is fulfilled to the required compliance level. You will also continually be looking for improvement opportunities to streamline processes both current and future state.

You will need to foster collaborative ways of working with the Product Owner/Manager, Digital Operations team, the wider IT Development team and external providers. You must be an excellent communicator, understand standard ecommerce functions and web-based user interfaces, have experience of systems integration with internal and 3rd party systems.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive and well-structured test plans to support all phases of the project at both Sprint & Release levels
  • Develop the automation testing strategy, including writing and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Lead the analysis, identification and definition of required relevant tests scenarios aligned to business processes
  • Gather and manage supporting test data
  • Define and monitor the overall quality during testing
  • Manage the assessment and evaluation of the outcome of each test cycle
  • Ensure testing is within the standard test life cycle, including: - functional, integration, end-to-end, volume / performance, and user acceptance tests
  • Lead the co-ordination and participation in test meetings and sessions
  • Maintain, document and prioritise coding defects using standard defect management tools
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to others in the QA function
  • Line management of QA Analyst(s)
  • Assess and resolve defects, with support from the team
  • Prepare necessary materials for testing
  • Ensure testing milestones and deadlines are met
  • Create acceptance criteria and ensure sign-off by stakeholders
  • Ensure all test reports provide up-to-date and accurate information to Senior Management teams
  • Validate that sprint deliveries are as expected and fit for deployment to production

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role implementing ecommerce & supporting systems utilising a mix of internal and external resources
  • Experience of working with automation testing, including writing and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Working knowledge of checkout / payment types / CRM integrations
  • Experience of working within Agile & Waterfall project methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of automated testing, test tools, techniques and methods
  • Practical experience in successfully creating and executing test plans from inception to delivery utilising a mix of internal and external resources
  • Demonstrable experience of defining test environments
  • Demonstrable experience of creating and executing test scripts
  • Demonstrable experience of working with test tools to document defects and progress them to resolution
  • Proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adept at collaborating with employees at all levels
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Competency in Microsoft applications - DevOps, Project, Word, Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive - able to identify issues in advance, escalating where necessary
  • ISTQB certification

A strong understanding of applications/concepts such as:

  • SAP Commerce Cloud
  • Headless storefronts
  • Payment gateways
  • CMS systems
  • CRM platforms
