An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Manager in our UK Digital Trading team to shape and lead the data strategy, provide insights and make data-driven decisions to optimise the performance and profitability of trading activities, working closely with the central data and analytics teams. Owing to the importance of data strategy in a digital world, this role will report directly to the Director of Digital Trading & ALP.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Definition and deployment of a data strategy and holistic steering framework for Digital Trading across all functions, introducing frameworks, processes and practices to provide accurate, reliable and actionable data insights
  • Identifying innovative ways of exploiting data to meet Digital Trading's strategic aims
  • Data Analysis: Utilising analytical tools and techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights from the collected data. For example identifying attractive market segments, opportunities for operational and customer experience improvements, and technical insights to optimise pricing and risk assessment
  • Reporting and Visualisation: Preparing and presenting reports, dashboards, and visualisations that communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner. This can help stakeholders understand performance metrics, monitor key indicators, and make informed decisions.
  • Data Management: Develop and implement data governance processes to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This may involve creating data models, maintaining data dictionaries, and establishing data quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with the latest advancements in data analytics, technology, and industry best practices. Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending innovative solutions to enhance data management processes and drive business growth.
  • Change & Transformation: ensuring change and transformation activity optimises data structures and delivery supporting data strategy and unlocking further value
  • Culture: driving a data and insight-driven culture across all stakeholders in the Digital Trading environment
  • Driving forward a test and learn mindset

About You

  • Experienced in leading and managing teams which are accountable for data quality and controls
  • Experience with major CRM technology solutions, for example Salesforce
  • Experienced in a mix of data literacy and domain knowledge (trading)
  • Understanding of data management technologies
  • Analytical skills
  • Database management related qualification (Microsoft, Oracle, DB2 or similar) essential. Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
  • Preferably have experience of developing insight and reporting capability in a sales or operational environment.
  • Familiar with legislation relating to use and storage of data
  • Experience of working in Financial Services desirable but not essential
  • A demonstrable eye for detail & excellent organisational skills
  • A good team player.
