Clarion Events is the world's largest privately owned event and exhibition organiser. For the last few years, the group has been undergoing an incredibly exciting period of digital transformation, diversifying the core revenue model beyond face-to-face events into new digital product lines. Clarion Digital Media Ltd (CDML) was created as a sub-division in 2023 to support this mission.

The goal of Clarion Digital is to leverage the rich datasets and relationships built through our events business to launch new digital revenue streams that amplify exhibitor presence beyond the show and add year-round value for audiences and exhibitors. These products include digital advertising, membership, directory and data subscriptions.

We are now looking for talented individuals who can support us in the next phase of Clarion Digital's exciting growth journey.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced and creative Digital Campaign Manager to join our dynamic marketing team and lead the strategy, planning, execution, and optimisation of digital campaigns across the Defence and Security Portfolio.

In this critical role, you will lead the development and execution of our digital campaign strategy across email, social and app, with an initial focus on supporting new digital product launches, followed by ongoing conversion rate optimisation and retention.

You will also be expected to identify and maximise cross-sell opportunities across existing event campaigns, as well as finding new channels to communicate to new audiences that wish to connect to this rapidly growing industry.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting in executing the brand vision, mission and values through our digital channels and support our wider marketing function in adopting digital communication best practice.

The Candidate:

Our ideal candidate is a results-driven self-starter who enjoys the pace of a dynamic work environment and possesses a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies to drive awareness, engagement and conversion in the B2B space.

You will be an expert in communicating value across digital platforms to drive awareness, conversion and adoption for our digital platform and subscription services, including websites, newsletters, and a new membership product.

You will have strong copywriting experience and be able to use this to produce benefit-led customer focused messaging for our year-round campaigns, understanding how to create and connect messaging for each digital channel (e.g. email, web, paid, social, app).

To be successful you must be adept at working on multiple projects at once and have excellent communication and organisational skills to prosper in a matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a digital campaign plan for email, social, and paid media that sits alongside the event campaign strategy, to support the launch and ongoing growth of new digital products (membership, directory, newsletter and marketing services).
  • Define digital campaign objectives, KPIs and target audience segments to maximise ROI of digital campaigns and improve based on results.
  • Execute on proposed email strategy in Microsoft Dynamics, including setting up automated visitor and exhibitor promotional email campaigns, creating promotional copy and managing ad hoc requests to promote and convert audiences into new digital products.
  • Manage push notifications in Microsoft Dynamics to drive engagement with the app.
  • Execution of social media campaign strategy across key channels (including LinkedIn), including a plan around key milestones and maximising in-house content, delivering growth in-line with benchmarks and KPIs.
  • Identify and execute cross-promotional opportunities across defence events portfolio and wider Clarion brand and align campaign plans to ensure messaging is always customer first.
  • Coordinate with the brand team the creation of digital assets to support campaign activities, with a mix of self-creation (Canva etc.) and collaboration with in-house designer.
  • Support the integration and scaling of our platforms and tools with specific focus on campaign automation (Microsoft Dynamics) ensuring you provide targeted, tailored and timely engagements.
  • Work with our data analyst to set up and proactively report on campaign performance, working with Managers and Marketing Operations, to ensure we gain insights that lead to effective campaigns and growth in customer engagement.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the portfolio to ensure messaging is consistent and enhanced to meet all needs (e.g. product, commercial).

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:

  • Proven track record of running successful, segmented and integrated digital campaigns.
  • Great copywriting skills, able to produce customer focussed benefit led creative copy.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools including Google ads and analytics, LinkedIn and CMS tools like Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Good understanding of CRM platforms and marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of content marketing and the role it plays in brand building and year-round engagement.
  • Experience of working in a matrix, with good stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who enjoys a busy and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and ensure competing priorities are delivered to time and quality.
