Digital and Social Media Manager: Fixed-Term Contract

We're looking for a brilliant Digital and Social Media Manager to work alongside RY and for one of our clients - a major supermarket chain, on a 6 month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll drive the communications team's online presence. Working with internal stakeholders and agency partners to help shape their digital and social strategy, craft world class content and engage with their online community to shift perceptions and build trust in the business.
Responsibilities will include:
Strategy & Reporting
- Working with the Lead Digital and Social manager to implement our digital and social media strategy across key platforms (e.g. Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn & corporate website).
- Tracking and reporting on key metrics, providing insights to guide decision-making and strategy adjustments.
- Presenting regular performance reports to stakeholders, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Content creation and campaign management
- Working closely with the channels executive to plan and oversee the content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant content is published across all digital platforms.
- Collaborating with our internal teams, external agencies, and in-house production team to create engaging content across a range of topics that help to build trust in the business.
- Identifying emerging trends and opportunities to create content.
- Lead and manage content shoots, working closely with our agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Testing and optimising content to make sure we're constantly improving.
- Working closely with the Lead Digital & Social manager to develop and execute paid campaigns, ensuring we're maximising the efficiency of our media spend.
Community Management
- Overseeing community management of our corporate channels, ensuring timely and effective engagement with followers, responding to comments, messages, and reviews.
- Monitoring social media channels for brand mentions and industry trends, proactively engaging in conversations where appropriate.
- Managing potential crises on social media with professionalism and tact, protecting the brand's reputation.
Website Management
- Overseeing the management and maintenance of the corporate website, working with internal stakeholders and our agency partner to ensure content is up-to-date and aligned with broader campaigns.
- Managing content publication for critical business calendar events, such as the business' financial results.
Requirements
Must Haves:
- You'll have excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Self-starter who can prioritise their own workload and schedule, comfortable working as part of a team and building strong relationships with internal customers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong writing skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to challenge the status quo.
- Passionate about content creation and unafraid to challenge established ways of working.
- Digitally savvy.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Solid understanding of social media platforms and how to get the best out of them.
- Previous experience within a similar role working with social media management tools, such as Sprout Social, to schedule content and create listening queries.
- Good understanding of content management systems, specifically Umbraco CMS.
- Basic understanding of how to report and present data on social campaign performance.
- Basic understanding of Google Analytics.
- Experience with Adobe Express.
