To lead and control part of Iberdrola's Offshore project development activities across the Globe. In those countries in new and emerging markets not under the direct control of the regional development platforms and teams.

To define, implement and monitor standards and minimum requirements for development activities at key project stages, including M&A, Lease Auction Rights, Tariff Auction, FID, Operational Handover, Decommissioning, Project Exit and Divestment.

The role requires management of the necessary processes and controls to ensure the effective consenting of the programme sites to meet business planning and contractual requirements as well as compliance of said consents embedded in the Project Services and Operations teams

What you'll be doing

Project Development Lead

For projects where responsibility lies in the Global Development Responsibility this shall include all aspects of consenting sites from scoping, through project development, environmental impact assessment and planning consents/ permits including all necessary financial approvals and budgetary control.

This may include offshore windfarm; on and offshore grid connection works, O&M assets, construction and storage facilities, and, offsite environmental and stakeholder mitigations.

This will include all aspects of compliance including submission of pre-construction documentation, managing compliance surveys, monitoring onsite construction activities, due diligence and support during any divestment and engagement throughout the O&M phase. This will include budgetary control at a package level as part of the wider construction/operations effort

In addition, this will cover securing and implementing land rights and options as required by the projects, at each stage of development to mitigate appropriate levels of project risks.

Management and engagement with relevant local stakeholder including planning authorities, local public, councils, and administrative authorities etc

Development Standards and Best Practice

The role requires the definition, implementation and monitor standards and minimum requirements for business development activities at key project stages, including M&A, Lease Auction Rights, Tariff Auction, Transfer to Execution, FID (and other key investment stages), Operational Handover, Decommissioning, Project Exit and Divestment. For all projects in the Global offshore portfolio covering minimum standards to ensure compliance with corporate standards, policies, support investment decisions, reputational needs, execution and construction management and risk and due diligence.

This role may include the engagement and management of ongoing and potential joint venture parties and development SPV's in Project Development activities. This role will also promote and further relevance innovations and best practices that are fostered in each of the regional platforms and act as a central point to coordinate applicable lessons learned and business experience related to development phase activities.

The role will develop and build upon the global best practice tools being fostered in each region including software tools and platforms, business processes and industry state of the art techniques within Projects Services and the regional development platforms.

What you'll bring

You will have a proven delivery track record of managing large scale development projects and developing business processes with Experience within project/ development management environment, ideally in commercially focused renewables business with offshore development experience.

You will bring your technical and commercial awareness of large-scale Energy/ Engineering projects as well as your own external networks and contacts (Energy Industry, Environmental and Planning Authorities)

The role holder will need to establish strong relationships with all major stakeholders including Regulators, Planning Authorities, Governments, Consultees, Communities, sub consultants and suppliers.
We will look for you to be a Proactive People Manager and motivator who is highly effective and influential in a range of matrixed organisations and project structures with attuned proactive planning skills - is able to look forward and see issues and deal with these
