Overview:
The Development Manager, Europe, will join the team on a hybrid basis from either of our stunning office locations in central London or Leeds city centre. This means you'll need to be within a commutable distance of one location to enable you to be in the office each week.
The role holder will develop a clear strategy and plan to consolidate all digital assets in the business and execute a digital transformation and enhancements program, providing deliveries from a developer's community in a variety of technologies. These range from .NET, SWP, Java, Oracle, REACT, Angular, JS, Android and iOS. The Development Manager, Europe, will be adaptable with an ability to work within the SDLC framework in addition to having clearly defined needs from the business to meet the timelines dictated and completing them within the allocated and quoted budgets.

What you need:
As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it's the right role for you too. You therefore need:
• 10+ years' leadership experience with leading technical delivery teams using Agile / DevOps methodologies
• Demonstrable experience in .NET technologies and experience with Agile / DevOps methodologies and project management
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain trust, respect, cooperation and positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Experience as a strategic leader with a proven track record of aligning IT with business goals and driving innovation across multiple entities
• Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail and the ability to promote a quality control culture
• An ability to share your own expertise and learning across the wider team, encouraging others to do the same
• Good problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to cross-functional projects
• Sound judgement, logical thinking and an ability to define and manage scope
• An ability to critique your own performance, acknowledging your strengths and areas for development

Day to Day, you will:
• Define and execute the IT and software development strategy to align with MUFG Pension & Market Services' goals, with a balanced focus on development and management
• Lead individual development teams, focusing on internal and third-party apps for full life cycle
• Build and lead squads for web, front end, integration and back-end development across software, products and platforms
• Establish robust and advanced development frameworks for API and Microservices development
• Assist the Head of SDLC for MUFG Corporate Markets, Europe in running overall technology operations by providing strategic, operational and management information inputs and ideas
• Collaborate and assist DSF (Digital Service Framework) teams, providing them core applications services and changes as and when required
• Manage escalations and incidents around applications with effective and efficient processes and tools to minimise business downtime and operational / financial losses
• Provide guidance to the team, ensuring they adhere to development standards, conducting performance evaluations and career development discussions
• Work with and manage third parties and vendors for development activities
• Ensure key performance indicators are measured, analysed and accurately reported to stakeholders for incidents of all priorities
• Implement SDLC best practice to deliver speed to market needs of the MUFG Corporate Markets business and alongside the Head of SDLC, build roadmaps, delivery plans and resource loading views
• Build modern development techniques and best practices like hackathons and co-creation
• Manage all the activities of the software development team and setting goals for each team member to ensure timely project delivery, taking full ownership and supporting changes from development to live
