Development Director

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Summary

Hampstead Theatre seeks a strategic and relationship-driven Development Director to lead fundraising at a pivotal moment, following the retirement of our long-standing Development Director, Cathy Baker.

More Details

Hampstead Theatre is one of London's leading producing theatres, championing original, world-class new writing across two stages. After nearly eleven remarkable years in post, our current Development Director, Cathy Baker, is retiring, leaving a strong foundation and a deeply engaged supporter community.

With philanthropy central to our unsubsidised operating model, the Development Director plays a crucial role in sustaining our artistic ambition and long-term resilience. You will lead all aspects of our fundraising strategy-major gifts, Patrons and Friends, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and production syndicates-while driving income growth and deepening donor relationships.

This is a senior leadership role combining strategic planning, relationship management, team leadership and hands-on fundraising. You will oversee cultivation events, donor stewardship, departmental budgets and reporting, while line-managing two Development Managers and contributing to the Senior Management Team.

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record across multiple philanthropic income streams, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a passion for new writing and artist-led theatre.
