Description
As a driven, and highly motivated individual with all the essential skills and experience needed to lead the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the team achieve objectives and that you can communicate and delegate. You will have the ability to prioritise workloads and motivate others. This role supports a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Leading a growing team that consists of quality control, bar coding, pick pack, despatch and stock replenishment, you will be an integral part of the team, this hands-on role includes all aspects from checking signs, packing orders to raising purchase orders to create internal stock. This is a fast-paced role that requires attention to detail and taking responsibility for the team and the on-time delivery of goods manufactured.
As the Assistant Despatch Manager, you will be responsible for a small team of operatives who will report to you directly, you will manage holidays, sickness, training and development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate goals and deadlines to team, ensuring these are met
- Planning and delegating
- Responsibility for on-time deliveries, with correct materials, quantities and finishes
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others
- Daily operations within the team, including but not limited to despatching orders, check in deliveries, quality control, support other areas of the team.
- Managing stock levels of packing and reporting in good time any requirements
- Managing min/max sign stock levels, generating purchase orders to manufacturing
- Overseeing Amazon Vendor, custom and stock orders, chasing missing parts and packing as required
- Communicating with production to ensure orders are received in good time
- Assist in the running of an efficient warehouse operations which can fulfil operational, and customer demands whilst meeting targets set.
- Liaising with IT on despatch / system issues
- Reporting and communicating any issues to management in a timely manner
- Managing the team's holiday and sickness, including return to work interviews
- Managing day to day operations, ensuring efficiencies
- Investigating and addressing complaints
- Responding to internal customers on deliveries / despatches
Person Specification
Skills
- Ability to prioritise
- Sound judgement and the ability and willingness to make decisions

- Medium level of IT proficiency, including MS Office (inc. Excel) and other tools such as production Software (Pace)

Knowledge
