Purpose of the Role
Join the Product Lifestyle and Design Team as the Design Manager - Product & Lifestyle where you'll be responsible for creating design proposals and managing design projects to deliver outstanding projects for all products beyond the vehicle.
Whilst supporting live projects, you will also have the opportunity to experiment with tools and processes to enhance product delivery for physical and virtual properties on all Bentley projects.
This role offers an exciting opportunity at a pivotal time in Bentley's history to undertake a senior role within a forward thinking design team, playing an integral part in developing the company's future brand vision. Your main responsibilities include;
- Delivering Innovative design projects on time and within budget
- Support and present in design reviews
- Support and develop design strategies within Product & Lifestyle
- Deliver next level Design proposals feasibly and on time
- Working cross functionally with internal and external partners
About the Team
The Lifestyle Design team at Bentley are located within the Design Studio and are responsible for delivering projects beyond the car including Products, Architecture, Brand Collaborations and Experiential design. This team has a large bandwidth of projects, working with internal Bentley departments and external partners and agencies. This team have regular reviews with the Design Director to deliver short lead-time projects on time and to Bentley design values. You will report to the Lifestyle Design Team manager to assist in leading this agile team.
About you - Skills and Experience
You will have a good understanding of a variety of design disciplines as required including Product Design, Interior Design, CMF and Furniture Design. A commitment to building positive relationships with other functions and demonstrate behaviours in line with the Bentley People Framework. You will demonstrate;
- Design understanding across various disciplines
- Management experience and ability to guide and develop designers
- A proven understanding of relevant design software, CAD packages and presentation techniques
- Ability to communicate and present design proposals and ideas across the company in different forums and at all levels
- Strategic thinking and planning of workloads
