Are you ready to take the helm in driving design excellence within one of the industry's leading firms? Look no further! GRAHAM is on the lookout for a seasoned **Design Manager** to spearhead design and technical teams for projects and tenders across the London/ Southeast region.
Reporting to the Regional Design Manager, the Design Manager has responsibility for design management within the Building Division of Graham Construction.
Working as an integrated member of project delivery teams and contributing to project bidding, the Design Manager will contribute significantly to the continued success and growth of the Building Division and will be expected to meet personal development targets, project goals and business unit targets.
Excellent technical knowledge, creative thinking and team working are essential components of the job role.
About the Role:
As our Design Manager, you will be at the forefront of managing design processes, ensuring buildability, efficiency, and optimal solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing permanent and temporary works designs for live projects and tenders.
- Collaborating closely with tender and project teams to align design expectations.
- Managing design programmes, incorporating them into the main programme.
- Fulfilling Designer duties for pre-construction operations under CDM Regulations.
- Providing design input for tender submissions and offering technical guidance as needed.
- Coordinating temporary works design elements and facilitating seamless information flow.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Architecture or Construction Management.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management tools.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
