As a Design Director within International Consumer Banking, you are the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. Job responsibilities
- Lead a Product Design team across multiple locations, as part of the wider Design & Research organization. Your partner teams include Research, Brand Design, Design Systems and Design Ops.
- Work with leadership across CX, Product and Marketing to align design and business goals.
- Partner closely with the Head of Design to foster design excellence, and act as a thought leader / subject matter expert on Product Design best practice to continually develop the quality of collaboration between Product, Technology, Content and Design.
- Oversee all aspects of Product Design, including interaction design, information architecture and visual design, to develop and execute the company's product design strategy and vision.
- Drive and lead the definition of what product design excellence looks like at Chase. Scaling our design vision, principles, processes, and frameworks to create exceptional experiences, balancing craft with the business impact of design.
- Advocate and lead a customer-centric and data informed approach to product design, ensuring design decisions utilise user research and insights, quantitative data (e.g., behavioural data, a/b testing) and business goals whilst empowering the team to focus on delivering end-to-end experiences that are meaningful, cohesive, accessible, and usable.
- Be accountable for design concepts and work developed by your team, ensuring that deliverables address all challenges effectively.
- Foster a culture of design thinking, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the organisation to ensure design decisions are aligned with business goals and customer needs, and lead your team to create work that excites the broader organisation by showing what might be possible.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Extensive commercial experience as a user-centred designer of products and/or services, with a number of years managing a design team or a part of a team.
- Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, and the ability to drive your team to apply them to complex problems.
- Experience working in various hands-on design roles in your career and subsequently developing into a design leadership role, in an end-to-end design product/service environment.
- A deep understanding of user-centric design principles and methodologies, with experience partnering with research teams on developing insights that drive product strategy & usability testing
- A strategic thinker who can demonstrate success partnering with product leaders to influence product strategy and an ability to describe design challenges holistically, considering broader business objectives and user needs.
- An ability to show big picture thinking, while still applying attention to the details.
- A proven history of designing high-quality digital products that have achieved measurable success. Through the depth and range of your design leadership capabilities you hold yourself and your team members accountable for achieving agreed goals and desired outcomes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with varied stakeholders at all levels from internal leaders to external partners
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment. You are comfortable managing high work volumes and processing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience

- Experience in the financial services industry is not required - we're open to hearing from folks with experience from all industries
