Full Time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Service Manger to join the Through Care Service.

Please note you need to have a social work qualification to apply for this role.

The Through Care Service supports children and young people aged 0-25 and their families, through their journey in care and as care leavers.

You will lead on the Children in Care part of the Through Care Service and support six team managers, three of whom you will supervise.

You will need to have management experience and knowledge / experience of children in care and care leavers.

Your role will include offering reflective spaces for managers and social workers, supporting decision making in reactive situations as well as longer term planning.

You will work closely with the Deputy Service Manager leading on the Care Leaver Service to ensure the transition of children from social worker to personal adviser is seamless.

You will be expected to deputise for the service manager in their absence.

You will be mostly office based. You will lead on identified projects and development of the service.

We are based at B Bond in a busy open plan office overlooking the river and Ashton Court. We have high aspirations for our children and young people and are committed to providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes.

We are looking for a manager who is committed to ensuring staff are well supported and valued and that our children have the best opportunities and networks to support them during childhood and into adulthood. If this is you we would welcome hearing from you.

In Through Care we recognise the importance of the child's whole network in building security and safety. We believe coming into care is an extension of the network our children already have, and a large piece of our work is to maintain this.

We are creative in our approach to be certain we meet the needs of our children. Our practice is underpinned by signs of safety and we encourage a systemic approach.

Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
