We're seeking a Public Sector Deputy Project Manager in London to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for one of our Public Sector Government clients.
SUMMARY
As a Public Sector Deputy Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and delivery of the Charging Evolution Programme. By applying effective project management methodologies, you will work collaboratively across various teams, including police forces and key internal stakeholders, to identify opportunities for business improvement, share best practices, and build robust working relationships. Your contributions will ensure the successful rollout of pilot initiatives and associated change activities, ultimately driving positive transformation within the organization.
YOU WILL:
- Support the Project Manager in defining and driving delivery to achieve agreed programme outcomes within time, cost, and quality constraints
- Lead day-to-day activity across allocated workstreams, applying appropriate delivery methodologies and ensuring project structures are fit for each stage of the Charging Evolution Programme
- Coordinate input into the business case, ensuring evidence and data from project delivery supports justification for decision-making
- Track spend against the project budget, highlighting variances and supporting effective financial control
- Schedule and manage resources across the project, using data insights to ensure sufficient capacity and capability
- Support the identification, tracking, and reporting of benefits, ensuring alignment to the programme's business case
- Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring information is communicated clearly and consistently
- Monitor project risks and issues, develop mitigating actions, and escalate strategically significant matters to the Project Manager
- Provide accurate project reports to governance forums, enabling effective decision-making
- Support assurance activities, ensuring appropriate controls and measures are in place
- Ensure change requests and deliverable adjustments are documented, agreed, and communicated effectively to stakeholders

- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate effectively
- Data-driven decision-making skills, using digital tools to monitor progress, forecast risks and opportunities, and provide insights
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges and find innovative solutions
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Relevant education or training in project management or a related
