Role: Deputy Programme Manager - Diabetic Eye Screening

Location: North Manchester

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the quality assurance, performance, and community engagement aspects of a vital healthcare programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance and Performance:
    • Collate and produce comprehensive reports on programme performance, audit, and Internal Quality Assurance.
    • Ensure adherence to Service Quality Standards, Key Performance Indicators, and Contractual Performance/Activity reports.
  • Community Engagement and Communication:
    • Lead communication, promotions, and stakeholder/community engagement activities.
    • Foster collaboration across the patient pathway, ensuring two-way discussions, and proactive engagement with diverse communities.
  • Operational Support:
    • Assist in the operational management of the programme and deputise for the Programme Manager when required.
    • Provide line management for the Engagement Officer, offering support and guidance as needed.
  • Professional and Patient Engagement:
    • Implement, coordinate, and facilitate engagement structures/forums to enhance program effectiveness.
    • Offer expertise on cultural, language, ethnic, and faith issues affecting attendance, ensuring communications are tailored for diverse audiences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement and development functions.
  • Track record of successful partnership development with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continued professional development and supervision of junior staff.
  • Familiarity with National Screening Committee (NSC), NDESP guidelines, NICE, and NSF is advantageous.
