Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and entry on the GP Register
  • Management or leadership experience
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Desirable criteria

  • Post graduate medical qualification or equivalent qualification / experience experience in leadership or health inequalities or population health

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • 1. Good understanding of general practice and dental provision within North Wales. 2. A good understanding of the health and social care management environment in Wales and of roles and responsibilities within it. 3. A good understanding of Welsh Government and its national targets. 4. A good understanding of quality improvement and performance management methodology. 5. The Safety and standards agenda. 6. An understanding of the principles of Public Health that are relevant to, and underpin the work of the IHC.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • 1. Must be or have been a practising GP/GDP or be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the issues involved in Primary Care. 2. Able to demonstrate activity within the area of Clinical Governance. 3. Significant organisational change experience/managing difficult and complex change. 4. A track record of achievement in: Effective performance management; Introducing robust systems and processes; Facilitation of groups; Undertaking sensitive negotiations. 5. Developing an organisational culture that promotes clinical engagement in decision making and leading continuous change and improvement in services, encouraging the use of new clinical and service technologies.

Ability to travel in a timely manner throughout the geographical area of North Wales and across Wales. 3. Able to work hours flexibly. 4. Welsh speaker or commitment to learn basic conversational Welsh 5. In date Job Plan or equivalent and appraisal

Desirable criteria

  • IT literate (proficient in MS Office e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) with standard keyboard skills.
