Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Deputy Head of Wardrobe to work on the London production of STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW.

Written by Kate Trefry, an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, directed by Stephen Daldry, co-directed by Justin Martin for the Phoenix Theatre and produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions.

Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to support and deputise for the Head of Wardrobe. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly.

Technical skills required include:

  • Ability to learn and perform dressing cues; from simple to extensive plots.
  • Experience and good knowledge in the maintenance of varied garments and textiles with excellent hand and machine sewing skills.
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of costumes.
  • IT skills with knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Ability and desire to learn new methods and improvement to working practices.
  • Ability to work under direction or independently, following tried and tested methods.

Experience on a large-scale production is essential.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Job Location: West End London

Contract Type: Fixed term for one year, then the contract will be rolling.

Salary: Weekly rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement.

Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
