An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and experienced Nurse Leader to join the Senior Nursing team within the Cancer, Haematology, Urology, Gastroenterology and General Surgery Clinical Management Group (CHUGGS, CMG). The applicant must be able to demonstrate good evidence of leadership, change management and be able to deliver transformational projects in line with the operational demands of the CMG.

The Deputy Head of Nursing will be assigned specific projects relating to the nursing workforce, quality and patient safety.

They will be responsible for the performance management of key performance indicators related to the nursing contribution to service delivery within the CMG.

Applications would also be considered for a secondment role for applicants who may wish to see if they can expand their skills and knowledge in this area whilst being supported before a more permanent move.

• Lead and participate in developments that enhance the patient / carer experience.
• Providing clear and visible leadership to patients and staff.
• To be responsible for agreeing, monitoring and implementing standards of clinical and non-clinical care ensuring that the highest standards are continually met.
• Implicit within the post is the need to prioritise and lead a diverse team. You will be expected to establish and maintain close liaison with other team members working within the CMG for the overriding objective of maintaining and improving an efficient and a high quality progressive service.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
