We're looking for a confident and skilled technician to join the team at the West End's Phoenix Theatre, currently home to Stranger Things: The First Shadow, an exciting new play set in the world and mythology of Stranger Things. The play features an original story by Kate Trefy, The Duffer Brothers and Jack Thorne, with direction from Stephen Daldry andproduced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions.
The Deputy Head of Electrics will assist the Heads of Department and Technical & Buildings Manager with the day to day running of the theatre from a technical perspective. You will be responsible for the upkeep of the building and building systems, including but not limited to: power, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and fire prevention systems. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of basic electrics and be willing to learn the remainder of the facilities skills required. Where maintenance and repairs cannot be achieved in-house, you will need to book and oversee contractors. You will also work on get ins and get outs and facilitate productions and events alongside the production show staff.
We are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated, focused individual to join a highly collaborative and friendly back of house team. The successful candidate will have experience in a backstage role and will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of current health and safety legislation and safe working practices. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
