Job overview
The Child Health Care Group at King's is looking for an experienced and dynamic person for the role of Deputy General Manager.
Main duties of the job
The DGM will be responsible for the operations of a portfolio of Child Health services at the Denmark Hill site, alongside a second DGM who oversees the other services. Responsible to the General Manager and working in partnership with Clinical Director and Head of Nursing, the DGM will work to ensure that our services are efficient and responsive, and work well for our patients and their parents and carers.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The postholder's portfolio of services will be: Surgery, Respiratory, Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Paediatric Critical Care, Psychology and Day Care services. They will take a leading role in the operational delivery, performance, financial performance, governance, change, and business development across these services and the care group as a whole.

Skills and experience
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in the relevant area
- Evidence of leading successful project and / or operational performance and improvement including business case preparation.
- Extensive knowledge of operations and / or project management methodologies and techniques.
Desirable criteria
- Prince 2 qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of service initiation / commissioning, contract negotiation, and the development and monitoring of output and outcome measures.
