£85,785 - £92,784 per annum
Location: Agile, Middle Engine Lane Police Station and homeworking (travel to other stations as required)
Hours/Contract:37 hours per week, permanent

The role

As the Deputy Director People and Organisational Development, you will be at the forefront of driving transformative cultural change to meet our strategic objectives. This role involves leading by example to craft and implement a People strategy that aligns with our organisational goals. You will have the overall responsibility for developing and executing this strategy through detailed business and priority-based plans, ensuring a strong commercial focus and a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'll do
- Drive High Performance: Lead service delivery to be proactive and predictive, focusing on future needs. Challenge existing practices and identify innovative ways to improve and structure services, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all delivery aspects.
- Performance Management: Develop and support a performance management approach that enhances employee engagement and high performance through workforce agility, continuous learning, and data-driven insights.
- Leadership and Role Modelling: Provide expert leadership for the people functions, setting an example to embed the standards, behaviours, and strategies necessary for sustainable improvements and a culture of service excellence.
- Strategic Reviews and Modernisation: Lead ongoing reviews of the people structure and service provision. Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to embed a modern people function across the organization, ensuring high standards and desired outcomes.
- Skills and Knowledge Development: Ensure the workforce possesses the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to meet the organization's strategic vision and priorities. Oversee the delivery of high-risk and complex training compliant with statutory standards.
- Learning and Development Management: Oversee the strategic management of internal and external learning and development, including educational partnerships, qualification frameworks, and apprenticeships.

What you'll bring
- Education: A degree-level education or equivalent, demonstrating your academic excellence.

Terms of appointment
This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
