About the roleAs a Department Warehouse Shift Manager, you'll be developing your Warehouse team and empowering them to take ownership of their operational success and personal development. Ultimately, ensuring a smooth supply chain operation which means our products are in the right place at the right time for our customers.
With this role you will be working on a 4 week rota basis that will include 1 weekend in 4. If there is a business need for you to change your hours this will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Working in a distribution/supply chain environment is fast-paced. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:
- Leading and motivating your team to deliver the most efficient supply chain operation possible.
- Ensuring all site KPIs are met and areas for improvement can be identified and implemented.
- Being an ambassador for the Partnership's core values and behaviours, acting as a role model to your team.
- Demonstrating great people management skills, creating a culture where your team can thrive and feel supported and looked after.
- Working with the wider site management team to drive efficiencies in the supply chain operation.
- Engaging with other third party stakeholders who influence the operation.
- Leading your team through change in an environment where customer demand influences the way we work.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
- Senior management experience with large teams.
- Previous experience of working within a logistics/supply chain environment.
- Experience managing customer/client relationships.
- Experience managing change in a logistics/supply chain environment.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
- Previous experience managing semi-automated or automated operations.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Capable of covering other operations to provide support when required.
- Good working knowledge of IT systems (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, emails).
